The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Voice Frustration Over Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Response
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
